Just got back from a wonderful week-long vacation in Taiwan. Over the past week, we braved the cold chilly weather sweeping over the entire island to visit various historical sites across Taipei, the night markets and even hiked up Mount Alishan to take in the beautiful views!
Besides visiting the various places in our itinerary, we also had the time to speak with local Taiwanese to get a glimpse of their lives and their perspectives on various issues from reunification to aboriginal land rights. Most importantly, I appreciated being able to get to know my travel companions better. Over the past 7 days, we have bonded over lots of food, walking and photography. I have learnt much from them. We plan to visit Indonesia next.
Many things have happened over the past week. I dont want to put it down here. But, suffice to say that it has been life-changing.
Need to exercise to shed off the excess weight accumulated with all that gorging in Taiwan so that I can eat some more during CNY!
I miss Pau. Hope to talk to her real soon.
