I have heard the Angels Sing
April 05, 2008, 22:15

I have heard the angels sing. Attended a concert held by the Celebration Chorus last night at St George's Church. A chorus ministry made up of members from various denominations, the chorus sang a series of classical hymns of worship and praise. Each hymn was prefaced by a commentary of scripture which exhorted the audience to place their trust and faith in God. It was heartening to see people from diverse churches coming together to sing in praise. In a world where difference is often accentuated, it is moving to see people bridging the ideological differences to sing in praise of the same God which they worship.

Tonight, I attended the St Margaret's School Choir concert at the new sanctuary of the St Andrew's Cathedral. The choir sang a series of experimental and classical works well. One song which was sung originated from the native Indians in Canada. The choristers were able to use their voices to simulate the sounds of birds and animals in the forest, which I never knew was possible.

The rest of the night will be spent doing some GMAT exercises and typing out a paragraph for that research proposal that I want to send out.
