The Week
April 02, 2008, 23:53

This week has been rather hectic and the pace is set to accelerate into the weekend. Besides the massive tonnes of work, there are the lesson plans that I have to do for my Sunday school class, the GMAT preparations, language class preparations and of course sitting down to write that research proposal (one paragraph) which I need to send out to the admissions people overseas.

I had a wonderful dinner with Lily tonight. As always, we had a wonderful and edifying conversation and I really enjoyed every moment of her company. Took a walk to Ochard Towers taxi stand to take a cab after dinner. I must say that this is one of the better places to wait for a cab (the taxi stand at Liat Towers is almost non-functional). With the high flow of ladies of the night descending on the area to meet up with prospective patrons, the Orchard Towers taxi stand is not just a good place to people watch, but a good spot to get a taxi quick.

The SIFF is starting this week. I have bought tickets to a few interesting movies. Looking forward to that.

I read an interesting book while waiting for Lily earlier this evening. Entitled "An hour to live, an hour to love", it raised the very thought-provoking question "If you had one hour to live and could make just one phone call, who would you call? What would you say? And why are you waiting?" It brought me back to what was most important. Not the amount of money, prestige and reputation we have or the amount of work we have done, but rather, how much we have loved and shown kindness to other people. As Mother Teresa said, "we cannot do great things, but we can do small things with great love". Hopefully, I can live life fully eventually, finding something which can fit with my interests
