Ich bin verliebt
December 15, 2007, 15:03

Its been a while since this blog was updated. I guess the dearth of entries is partly due to my busy schedule of late as well as an inability to put thoughts into words.

On Thurs, I went out with WT to explore Mount Emily and Mount Sophia, two of the possibly upcoming hotspots in Singapore. We hung out at Wild Oats, a huge colonial mansion which has now been converted into a pub. The ambience was wonderful and the famous Parmesan Chicken Wings were quite tasty. Witnessed also a company gathering at the massive garden outside the mansion. I hope that I would be able to hold my birthday party there next year.

From Mount Emily, we walked down to Mount Sophia, a very scenic location from which one could see the city lights. We checked out Old School which had been transformed from a leafy school campus to a creative arts hub with arts and design studios as well as Singapore's only indie film cinema! A beautiful place at night. The walk was nice, the company was good. I was truly happy and in love then.

Taken from Paulo Coleho's blog:

"Father Alan Jones says that in order to build our soul we need the Four Invisible Forces: love, death, power and time.

We must love because we are loved by God. We must have an awareness of death in order to understand life fully.

We must struggle in order to grow, but without becoming entrapped by the power that is gained through that struggle, because we know that power is worthless.

Finally, we must accept that our soul, although eternal, is at this moment caught in the web of time, with all its opportunities and limitations. We must therefore behave as if time existed and do everything we can to value each second.

These Four Forces cannot be treated as problems to be solved because they are beyond our control. We must accept them and let them teach us what we need to learn."
